Dear Doctor,
Malnutrition in cancer is a common phenomenon with up to 80% prevalence across treatment modalities
and disease states.
Cancer-induced systemic inflammation may result in poor nutritional intake, causing extreme weight loss,
cancer cachexia leading to muscle wasting and decreased quality of life. Furthermore, it can worsen
treatment outcomes and increase the risk of post-operative complications and treatment interruptions
leading to the longer need for hospitalization.*
Optimizing Nutrition Care in Cancer patients can significantly improve outcomes.
To discuss and understand the increasing ROLE & RELEVANCE of Nutrition in Cancer, we invite you for
an ‘EXPERT UNION MEETING’ on cancer-specific nutrition.
